Job Description:
  • Works under the general supervision of the Library Director 4-8 hours/week
  • Hours include Monday or Thursday evenings 3-7p.m., rotational Saturdays 9-noon, plus additional weekday hours as needed
Example of Duties:
  • Perform circulation desk procedures and process materials
  • Assist patrons searching for needed materials
  • Shelve materials
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to understand and perform routine library procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and public
  • Computer skills (familiarity with computers and ability to learn new software applications)
  • Performs Interlibrary Loan duties (research materials, search library holdings, generate requests, process materials, notify patrons)
  • Ability to develop rapport with people of all ages
  • Friendliness, enthusiasm, flexibility
Physical Demands of the position:
  • Sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching
  • Lifting, carrying up to 40 lbs
Qualifications:
  • Present an acceptable business casual appearance
  • Dependable work and attendance habits

Job Description:
  • Works under the general supervision of the Library Director 20-24 hours/week
  • Currently the schedule includes Monday or Thursday hours (until 7:00 p.m.), Friday 9-4, rotational Saturdays 9-noon, plus additional Wednesday hours
Example of Duties:
  • Designs, plans and executes a full range of programs for youth and families
  • Responsible for preschool story hour and summer library program
  • Perform circulation desk procedures and process materials
  • Assist patrons searching for needed materials
  • Shelve materials
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Good organizational / planning skills
  • Ability to understand and perform routine library procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and public
  • Computer skills (familiarity with computers and ability to learn new software applications)
  • Performs Interlibrary Loan duties (research materials, search library holdings, generate requests, process materials, notify patrons)
  • Love of children’s literature and reading
  • Ability to develop rapport with people of all ages
  • Friendliness, enthusiasm, flexibility
